Breath & Bones is a body meditation practce. We begin with posture, with re-aligning the way we hold ourselves, literally – and by doing so, find both lightness and stability. We connect to what’s already solid, reliable, constant inside of us: the structure of the bones and the midline, and the fluidity of the breath. It’s a bit like a dance in stillness, a deepening awareness of this being-in-body. Imagination and inner imagery activate a connectivity within the deeper layers of our physical structure (axis/pelvic bowl). We find back to a way of holding ourselves that is more akin to the blueprint of our bodies before constriction, tension, and habitual pose. From there, it’s about our inner world: about felt imagination, energetic gestures and the embodied experience of being with the self.

A somatic practice is simply a formalised way in. Essentially, it’s about landing in ourselves, in this very moment. Pleasure lives in very simple acts: breath is sensational if the diaphragm is allowed descend, widening the lower ribs, literally creating space. Holding ourselves up can be delicious. Our inner worlds are wildly alive and vast and surprising when we come into full body contact with our own Self.

That’s what Breath & Bones is about.
